Young Man Dies
 
Andy Herbert Carroll was born in Missouri, March 9, 1886.  He spent his 
boyhood days in Galesburg, Kansas.  The better part of his life was spent in 
Idaho.  For the past sixteen months he has been a resident of Council.  For 
about two years prior to his recent employment here, he was secretary and 
treasurer of the Lincoln Lumber Co. at Fruitvale, was also postmaster at that 
place.  In all his positions he has rendered most satisfactory service, always 
attentive to his business.
 
Intellectually he stood with the best.  He was a good provider and planned 
carefully in all of his business dealings.  He was a young man of sterling 
qualities with a promising future.  He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge, 
in which order he held the office of Vice Grand.  He was also a member of the 
Rebekah lodge.  Both orders attended the last sad rites in a body.
 
On August 21, 1909, he was united in marriage to Miss Olda May Davis.  To this 
happy couple two children were born, Ula 20 months old and Madge 2 months 
old.  His family is left to bear the memory of a kind and affectionate husband 
and father.  His parents, Joseph and Ellen Carroll, brother, Charles and 
sister Gladys mourn the loss of a worthy son and brother.
 
His death was caused Tuesday forenoon, Feb. 13, by an attack of pneumonia.  He 
was sick but six days, during which time his suffering was intense.  A deep 
sympathy is born to the sorrowing ones by many friends.
 
The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Wednesday afternoon and 
interment made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
