FINAL RITES SATURDAY FOR WILLIAM HANSON
 
Funeral services for William Hanson, 89, Council, who died Wednesday at a 
Caldwell nursing home will be conducted at 10 am.  Saturday at the Council 
Congregational Church by Bishop Roscoe W. Leukenga.  Interment will be in the 
IOOF Cemetery by the Council IOOF Lodge No 85.  He was born Jan 12, 1886, at 
Dale.  He grew up on Hornet Creek and married Lulu Sabin Nov 26, 1909.  The 
couple operated a cattle ranch most of their lives.  Mrs. Hanson died in June 
1940.
 
He continued ranching until 1954, when he retired and moved to Council.  He 
was a member of the IOOF Council Lodge No 85.  Surviving are three daughters; 
Mrs George (Lella) Palmer, Osborn, Mrs. Roscoe  (Ann) Leukenga, Nampa and Mrs. 
Laurence (Mattie) Thomas, Council, 19 grandchildren and 40 great-
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son and two daughters.
 
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Northam-Jones funeral Home, 
Weiser.
