His death came while he was being cared for at the come of Mrs. John Kesler, Thursday night November 3, 1932. He had been able to be around town , on crutches for more that a year but was gradually failing. His former strong constitution had to give way to the inevitable ravage of suffering that followed his injury. Obituary Soren Hanson was born in Denmark June 4, 1871. With his parents he came to Utah in 1881 and two years later they moved to Idaho locating in the Hornet Creek valley where he spent his young manhood. In 1902 he was married to Miss Dora Lakey and to the union two daughters were born: Hazel, now Mrs. Elwyn Mathews, and Nina who is a student in Council high school. The wife and mother died in Boise March 31, 1925. Funeral service was conducted at the Congregational Church by Rev. Harry W. Johnson, pastor-at-large. A large number of people attended the service, representing the old time friends and neighbors as well as the later generation. Soren Hanson was an indulgent father, kind, generous neighbor and friend - even too generous for his own welfare. The history of the Weiser river territory could not be written complete without liberal space being given to the labor, sacrifices, and neighborly deeds of Soren Hanson. Cards of Thanks We take this means to extend to our many kind friends our sincere thanks for the kindness and help given us during our sorrow because of the death of our beloved father Soren Hanson.
