FUNERAL SERVICE HELD FOR CHRISTENA ROSS
 
Christena Marie Ross, 72, of Ckouncil a pioneer resident of Adams county, 
passed away Saturday morning after an illness of one year.
 
Christena Marie Ross was born Nov. 27, 1881 at Brigham City, Utah, and moved 
to Council with her parents when she was a child.  She was the widow of Jack 
Ross, who died in 1938.
 
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Anna Emery and Mrs. Nellie Upton, both of 
Seattle, WA., and Mrs Jenne York of Melba;  two brothers, Nelse (sb Nelson) 
Hanson of Fruitland and William Hanson of Council, and six grandchildren and 
three great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church with the Rev. Eunice 
B. Trumbo officiating, Wednesday afternoon.  Pall bearers were Gene Perkins, 
William Ham, Glen Harrington, Arthur Thomas, Robert Kampeter and Lawrence 
Thomas.
 
Interment was at Odd Fellows cemetery in Council.
