Deceased was born in Harrison county, Iowa, July 16, 1866, and grew to be a man there. In 1888 he was married to Miss Katie Bacus, and in about 18 months after marriage he moved with his wife and babe to Idaho, and has been on or near Middle Fork ever since. Nine children were born to this union, eight of whom, together with their mother, survive him, and also leaves a sister and two brothers to mourn his loss. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints church and was at one time a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge here. The remains were laid to rest in Cottonwood cemetery, Rev. Stover conducting the funeral services. Mr. Shaw was a prosperous and widely known rancher and had the respect of the community. He owned a 200-acre ranch where he lived, a good sized head of sheep and was very well fixed. The family are unfortunate this year, having lost their $2,000 house a little over a month ago, and friends extend most sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
