Church members settled the Bear Lake valley in 1863. In 1884 construction 
began using designs of Joseph Don Carlos Young son of Brigham Young. The 
Tabernacle was dedicated by Church President Wilford Woodruff and George Q. 
Cannon on September 15, 1889.
