Ex Bishop Rawson, First Counselor of the Boise stake, conducted the services. The funeral called to Carey the biggest crowd ever seen there on any occasion, mourners having come from Cassia county, Boise and Southeastern Idaho. There was not even standing room in the new edifice, tho the benches were not yet in, these being the first services ever held in the church. There were four caskets. One was for Mrs. W. H. Cameron and her babe that was held in her arms, one contained the body of Mrs. John Adamson, on that of John Adamson and one for James Adamson. The interment was in the Carey cemetery. CAMERON HAD THREATENED TO CAUSE A BIG FUNERAL Since his arrest last July and the subsequent filing of a complaint by his wife in her suit for a devorce, Cameron repeatedly tried to get his wife to return to him. When he finally gave up hope of doing so he told his father-in- law, John Adamson, that unless his wife returned to him there would be "The d___dest funeral ever seen in Carey." Friends had vainly endevored to induce Cameron to leave the country in order to get away from impending trouble. One of these was Elihu Womack, who worked upon him every time that they met and who urged him to just take a blanket, a little grub, a few dollars and walk away, leaving everything to his family. CAMERON LOCKED UP THE HOTEL Mr. Womack saw him last Saturday and suspected there would be some action soon but could not find out a thing from Cameron. Mr. Womack noticed that all the doors of the hotel and even the gate to the stable yard and corral were locked, some even pad-locked; but that was natural as no one lived there excepting Mr. Cameron and he was away a great deal. Since the tragedy Mr. Womack believes that Cameron intended to kill all those he did kill, also three other prominent Mormons of Carey and to take his wife home. Mr. Womack is led to this opinion by the fact that the place was locked up so throughly that no one could have got in unless Cameron let them in, and also by the fact that a stout gag with leather straps was found in his pocket. That was probley to gag his wife while he carried her home. AT LEAST TEN SHOTS FIRED Cameron must have fired at least 10 shots. At least five wounds were found in John Adamson, four or five in his chest and one in the head. The killing of the Cameron baby is supposed to have been accidental as Cameron loved his children and fondled them at every opportunity. Probley the demented man did not notice the baby in his grandfather's arms. The supposition that James Adamson was killed while on his knees begging for mercy is nonsensical. James was playing the piano when he heard the shots and as he was a brave man must have grappled with the murder who shot him under the chin the bullet coming out through the top of his head. In the scuffle Jim's shirt was torn to shreds. CAMERON WOULD HAVE BEEN HUNG IF ALIVE The excitement in Carey when the trgedy happened was intense, many persons running to the Adamsons house armed with revolvers or shot guns. It is said that even Ed Cameron said that if his brother was not dead he should be hung. CAMERON A PRESBYTERIAN Wm. H. Cameron was born a Presbyterian and he was buried this afternoon from the Presbyterian church in Bellevue, the Rev. L. L. Brugman the Methodist minister of Hailey, conducting the services. The father and mother of the deceased are buried in the Hailey Cemetery; but it is in the Southeastern corner, now owned by the Masonic Lodge of Hailey, and no lots can be purchased there by non-Masons. Another reason for burial at Bellevue is that some members of the Cameron family live there and none lives in Hailey.
