  D. T. Davis of Jerome and Mrs. Louise Ward, his daughter, who is the widow 
of the late John Ward, who died in Shoshone of appendicitis and was buried at 
the home ranch on Fish Creek Thursday, came to Hailey yesterday in company 
with Mrs. Augusta Ward, the mother of John Ward, and her son Otto Ward, to 
attend to probate matters in connection with John Ward's estate. The party 
left Today for their several homes-Mrs. Augusta Ward and her son Otto Ward for 
the retreat, the family ranch on Fish Creek, and Mr. Davis and Mrs. Louise 
Ward for Jerome.
  Besides a well cultivated and well stocked ranch the late John Ward was 
insured for $17,545, $10,000 of this was in the Idaho State Life that paid it 
the day following his death and prior to the funeral, and Mrs. Ward 
immediately subscribed for $10,000 of Liberty Loan bonds, the subscription to 
be credited to Blaine county. The remainder she will invest in War Savings 
Stamps.
  Mrs. John Ward has been sorely stricken, as during the past 2 1/2 months she 
lost her daughter,8 1/2 years old, her brother enlisted and was sent to 
France, her mother died, and now her husband has passed away. So she will stay 
at Jerome with her father until the estate is probated, after which the two 
will probley move to some warmer climate as Mrs. Louise Ward herself has not 
been well for more than two years and they now feel quite alone in the world.
