Honesty, integrity, love, kindness and helpfulness were present with him at every turn.At his coming to America in 1906,he came directly to Bellevue, where he had resided continuously.Vocationally he was a blacksmith. At the entrance of our nation into the World War he was one of the first to go,but was compelled to return home because of a weak heart. In 1922 he married Miss Charlotte Duff of Boise,to to which union one son,now one year old was born.Besides his widow and son,he leaves to mourn his loss a mother, father and brother of Scotland,a sister of England, and a brother of Rock Elm,Wisconsin.Together with the usual tribute of flowers and helpfulness of all kinds during our recent brother's illiness, the whole town and country of Bellevue paid the unusual tribute of responding nearly to a man in the attendance of the short burial service held at the home,2:30 Sunday p.m. The winning smile and the helpful deeds will be greatly missed by all the inhabitants of Bellevue. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the beloved wife by friends and neighbors in this great hour of need.
