Idaho World Newspaper November 3, 1870
 A Chinaman named Tong Wah was murdered on the Boise City road, one day last 
week, and robbed of a gold bar of the value of $271.00 The bar was assayed by 
S.W. Dickinson and was numbered 1,263;759 hue, and weighed 17 33-100 ounces. 
It is believed that he was murdered by some of his counryman, as Mr. Dickinson 
says that he saw a couple of them hanging around and looking in his door while 
he was running the bar, and as Tong Wah started for Boise city on foot they 
evidently watched his movements and followed him, or waylaid him, as he was 
shot in the back of the head.
