Brice was born May 22, 1926 in King Hill, Idaho the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Carnaham) Barrett. After graduating from Morton High School he played baseball for the Cincinnati Reds farm league as a pitcher. He then joined the United States Navy serving during WWII and Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he met and later married Margaret T. Manuel on April 9, 1960 in Ashcroft B.C. In 1977 the two moved to Priest River and shortly after started his own business Brice Barrett Cedar, which is now known as Barrett Busy Bee Cedar. Brice was known as a simple man who loved his work and his family. He also loved watching sports. Survivors include his Wife Margaret at the family home; four children Suzette Black of Olympia, Wash., Kenneth (and Lauri) Barrett of Priest River, Idaho, Troy (and Corrina) Barrett also of Priest River, Idaho, and Cindy (and Nikolis) Beach of Maple Valley, Wash.; 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Survivors also include his brother Gary Barrett of Portland, Ore. Besides his parents, Barrett was preceded in death by his sister Carrie. A Graveside Service was held on Sept. 27, 2005 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
