Dave was born on Dec. 13, 1960 in Sun Valley, Idaho, the son of Don and Kay Rogers Ivie. He grew up in Fairfield, Idaho and graduated from Camas County High School. He then attended the College of Southern Idaho, where he enjoyed playing basketball with the CSI Golden Eagles. Dave became a talented and accomplished saw filer. His job took him to several different places where he made many life-long friends. In 1985, he married Rockie Bess. Dave's love for hunting and fishing gave him many years of pure joy. He loved nothing more than getting together with his family and friends and enjoying the beautiful Idaho mountains, a blazing campfire, and his four-legged baby, Cindy. David Don's heart was as big as the great outdoors that he loved so much and he leaves behind many, many people who loved him and will miss him dearly. Dave is survived by his father and mother, Don and Kay Ivie, grandmother, Dee Rogers, and sister, Tami (and Dan) Moen, all of Priest River, Idaho; two brothers, Larry Ivie (and Robin) of Careywood, Idaho and Bob Ivie (and Jodie) of Fairfield, Idaho, plus numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Victoria Ivie; grandfather, Ray Rogers; and his uncle Arthur Ivie. A memorial service will be held on Jan. 28, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Trenary Funeral Home in Kooskia, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. Send condolences to the family at blackmerfuneralhome.com.
