Jim was born April 6, 1956 in Austin, Texas the son of Jose and Concepsian (Hernandez) Moreno. He and his family have lived in the Newport area for the past 13 years, moving from Spokane. Jim had been working as an electrician for the past six months for Merritt in Spokane. Jim loved to spend time with his family; together they enjoyed climbing to "3 Rocks" and trying to snowboard with his son Nick. Jim was a man with many talents. Over the years he was able to build the family home. He enjoyed dirt bikes, boating, and golfing. Survivors include his wife Brenda and son Nick at the family home; daughter Tina Herrbach of Spokane; two grandchildren Tyler and Christina of Spokane ; his father, Jose Moreno of Richland, Wash.; three brothers, Freddy Moreno of Whidbey Island, Wash., Manuel Moreno of Seattle, Wash. and George Moreno of Moses Lake, Wash.; six sisters, Eva Gloria of Eagle Pass, Texas, Carmen Miranda, Terri Moreno, Virginia Culbertson all of Seattle, Wash., Rosie Thompson of Richland, Wash. and Sylvia Leal of Anaheim, Calif. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Joe Moreno. A Memorial Service was held on August 3, 2005 at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
