Ward, 46 David J. Ward, 46, of Ione, Wash. passed away October 12, 2005 at his home, cause of death is pending at this time. David was born in Pasadena, Calif. Dec. 15, 1958. He was the first of five children to Ralph W. and Helen Fay (Mauck) Ward. He enjoyed marching band and rock 'n roll early on. He was very fond of hiking. Once he, his brother and father hiked to the top of Mt. Whitney, Calif. Imagine a snowstorm in August. David had a very good impression of John Wayne, "I tell you pilgrim, it's just the nature of the beast." Actually he was related to Marrion Morrison. William Bradford was one of his forebears. The down 'n outers could always expect a pocket full of change from Dave or a couple of bills. He had worked at McDonald's for nine months early on and was a painter in San Diego remodeling houses. He also worked as a parts runner for Foothills Datsun in La Crescenta, Calif. where he went to high school. He survived by his father Ralph of Ione, Wash.; mother Helen of Ft. Myers, Fla; brother Stephen of Olathe, Kan.; two sisters, Shirley of Kitty Hawk, NC, and Kimberly of Palmdale, Calif. His younger sister, Rachel preceded him in death at the age of 23 in 1994. Services will be held at a later date in Florida. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
