The bouncing baby daughter made her entrance in the world at the Sacred Heart Hospital just seconds after East Idaho residents launched a blatant welcome to the new year. Attendents at the hospital said the baby arrived at 15 seconds after midnight just as the thunderous roar of whistles, trains, bells, girens and horns fitled the air. A host of presented, 25 in all, will be delivered to the infant, including a paid receipt to her parents by the hospital which is paying the entire amount of the bill. To the Sacred Heart hospital, opening its doors for the first time on a New Year, also went the honor of seeing the firest baby born in 1942. then, the first time the hospital was opened at its former site on Boulevard, the first baby in the county that year was a son to Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Denmende. The second child was born at the Idaho Falls LDS hospital a son to Mr. and Mrs. Milo Hendricks, 833 North Boulevard at 2:16 a.m. Other births were a son to Mr. and Mrs. Rhule Leonardson, Dubols, 10:15 a.m.; a daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Melvin McAfoe, Darlington, at 11:27 a.m.; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Glen Knighton, a Moore, at 1:25 p.m.; and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. William E. Love, Roberts, at 5:35 p.m. The second child born at the Sacred Heart hospital was to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Aldens of Slamon at 6 a.m. Here besides the paid hospital bill is a list of the prizes which Idaho Falls merchants will deliver to the time new queen of 1950. A voice recording every six months for two years from Schwendiman Radio and Sound company, a locket to the first girl and a ring to the first boy from R. and G. Jewelers, a baby shawl from the ABC Gift shop, a year's supply of baby nursing bottles from Craggs drug, a sterling silver baby set from Leymaster jewelry, an orchid for mother from Green's Seed and Floral, a training chair from Western stores. A box of chocolates from Poitevain's Ice Cream shop, a combination bottle warmer and steam vaporizer from Fogg Drug, a $5 savings account started in the baby's name by the Bank of Eastern Idaho, a shirt for father from Block's, a baby cosmetic set from the Lad and Lanala shop, a stork cark from Jack and Jean's bakery, a sterling spoon and fork from Kugler's jewelry, a jumper from Sears Roebuck and company, a custom made pipe from Headquarters store, an 8 by 10 portrait of the baby from Scott's studio, baby's first shoes and house slippers from mother from Bellany Shoe company, a cuddle neat from the Juvenile shop, a free hair style from mother from Groom's Beauty service, a case of strained baby food a from Albertson's, four dollars in dry cleaning service for the parents from Paramount cleaner. A crib blanket and a crib spread from C. C. Anderson's, a gown for mother from Lee and Hansch, and a 30 day supply of milk from the Cream Top dairy. POCATELLO BABY POCATELLO, Jan. 2 (P) --- More than an an hour of the new year was past before the first baby of 1950 was born in Pocatello, St. Anthony's Mercy hosptial said a daugther was born to Mr. and Mrs. Otto Westfall of Arco at 1:15 a.m. FIRST OF 1950 TWIN FALLS, Jan. 2 (P) -- Mr. and Mrs. Lavon Clays of Twin Falls ar parents of a daughter born 25 minutes after midnight, first baby of 1950 in Twin Falls.
