Ralph Ernest Agueros was born on June 12, 1934 to Ernest "Ernie" and Alice (Berganio) Agueros in Los Angeles, Calif. Ralph spent his early childhood in the rough neighborhood of Boil Heights. At the early age of 9 Ralph discovered his gift and passion for selling by selling programs at the Olympic Boxing Arena in Los Angeles. Ralph attended and graduated Whitter High School in Whitter, Calif., and it was there that he met his high school sweetheart Charlotte Lorraine Burgan. Fresh out of high school Ralph and Charlotte married on Valentines Day Feb. 14, 1952. As the Korean War came to a close and to serve his country, Ralph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Ralph was stationed in South Korea and was very near the DMZ. Ralph had many funny stories about his tour and role as a cook for the Corps. Ralph's family had many SOS meals and we all learned to cook because of his experiences in the Corps. In August of 1956 Ralph and Charlotte welcomed their first son James "Jimmy" Anthony Agueros. In May of 1958, they added son #2 - Richard Allen, and in December of 1961, they welcomed son #3 - Christopher Charles - Charlotte's last try for a girl! To support his family Ralph spent many years in the meat packing and butchering business. In the late 70's Ralph found a new passion for buying-selling-and trading guns and jewelry. Tired of the "rat-race" of Southern California, Ralph longed for a better way of life, and through one of his gun buddies, he made his first trip to Bonners Ferry. Ralph fell in love with "Bonners" and in 1979 made the Leap to follow his passion - soon the whole family re-located to this area. Buying-Selling-& Trading was Ralph's passion, and owning Roundheels Pawn & Gun was the pride of his life. Over the years his businesses have had different names, but it was the Roundheels name that he as most proud of. The Kootenai Tribe officially gave him the name because he was such a "push-over" and so "Roundheels." Ralph is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, mother, Alice, of Long Beach Calif., sister, Margaret Jeanseau, San Clemente Calif., sons, Jimmy, Richard, Christopher and their families as well as a whole lot of very special grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, the family will hold a memorial and celebration of Ralph's life from 9-11 a.m. at the Roundheels Shop on Main Street in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
