Brant, pioneer settler of the Bonners Ferry district, died of a paralytic stroke at his home at Hope, Idaho, on November 16. Funeral services were held at Hope at two o’clock Monday afternoon. Mrs. Graves, of the Clarksfork Methodist church, officiating. The deceased was born in Vermillion County, Ohio, on March 12, 1861. He came to Idaho in 1883 and was married in 1890 in Bonners Ferry to Miss Lucy Fry, daughter of Dick Fry, who was one of the first white men to locate in this district. Mrs. Brant passed away at Hope several years ago. He followed prospecting and mining and moved to Hope, Idaho when he located on a number of promising claims in that district. He is survived by a son, Fitz Hugh Brant, of Wenatchee, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs Lena Aldridge, of this city, and Mrs. George Case of Portland, Oregon; a half-sister, Mrs. Estella Swartwood and a half-brother, Len Brant, both of Bonners Ferry. Mr. And Mrs. Len Brant and Mrs. Harley Cave, a niece, attended the funeral services.
