Arthur Campbell, 82
   Arthur C. Campbell, 82, passed away May 16, 2003 at his home in Coeur
d’Alene, Idaho.  He was born in Colorado Springs, Col. April 13, 1921 to Clem
and Gladys (Pierce) Campbell.
   He graduated from high school in 1940 and joined the U. S. Army in 1942 and
served in France during World War II.  He married Ruth Manker in May 1944 and
after the war, he moved his family to Bonners Ferry, Id. to join his parents.
   He built two homes in Bonners Ferry and spent many years delivering meals on
wheels.  He worked for Fleming Studebaker, Boundary County Road & Bridge and was
road foreman and later a shop foreman.  He retired in 1983 when he moved to
Coeur d’Alene, Id.
   He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Bonners Ferry, the Kootenai Kloggers
Square Dance Club and a member of the United Methodist Church for 30 years.  He
enjoyed Square Wheelers, raced stock cars, loved fishing, camping and traveling.
 He was also a member of Good Sam’s and loved building things with wood.
    He is survived by his wife, Verla Campbell; son and daughter-in-law, Henry &
Darlene Campbell of Spokane, Wash.; daughters and son-in-laws, Karen & Bill Reed
of Spokane, Wash., Dorothy and Gary McCalmant of Boise, Id., and Vi Campbell of
Coeur d’Alene, Id.; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10
step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; step children and spouses,
Peggy & Ray Turner of Pullman, Wash., Rita & Harriet Curnel of Kentucky and
Corinne & Gary Carlisle of Kellogg, Id.
   Graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Coeur
d’Alene Memorial Gardens, Coeur d’Alene, Id.
