   Joan Coble Chavez, 74
   Joan (Judy) Coble Chavez, passed away June 6, 2004 at Gritman Hospital in
Moscow, Idaho from complications of chemotherapy and pneumonia.  She was 74.
   She was born May 26, 1930 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Mary Elvira and Thomas
Coble.  She attended elementary and high school in Bonners Ferry and graduated
from the University of Idaho in 1952 with a degree in Education.
   She married Edmund Chavez in 1953.
   She taught high school in Kellogg and Moscow, retiring in 1988.
   She is survived by her husband, three sons, Mark, Joel and Todd, and one
daughter, Andrea, one sister, Edith Gibson of Moscow, Id., and one brother,
Keith Coble of Bonners Ferry, Id.
   A service to celebrate her life will be at 2 p.m. June 19 at the Unitarian
Universalist Church of the Palouse in Moscow.
