Private family services will be held. Glen’s wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest at his father’s grave, Glen Fairchild, Sr. who died in 1947. Glen was born on Aug 14, 1922 in White Sulphur, Mont. To Glen and Ruth Fairchild. He served in the Army in WWII and received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation medal with one bronze service star, American Theater Service Medal and Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. After his discharge in December of 1945, he worked for Louisiana Pacific as a sawyer on their logging crews. He built and lived in his own home. He never married or had children of his own but loved his many nephews and nieces. Glen is survived by two brothers, Gary D. Thurman and Harold Fairchild, both of Bonners Ferry; one sister, Dorthy Chicks of Ponderay, Idaho. Glen was preceded In death by his oldest brother Jack Fairchild of Carson City, Calif., and a nephew Dave Charles Thurman of Bonners Ferry, Idaho Wayne, Eric and Katherine Thurman, his nephews and niece want to thank all who have expressed their regrets and sympathy on their Uncle Glen’s passing.
