A vigil service will be held Bonners Ferry Funeral Home February 15, 2007 at 7:00pm and Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Friday, February 16th, 2007 at 11:00am. Internment will be at Grandview Cemetery following the mass. Leslie was born August 16, 1951 in Havre, MT to Leslie and Ruth (Modic) Mellett. She attended schools in Chinook, MT graduating in 1969. She attended Northern Montana College on a Music Scholarship. On September 23rd, 1972 Leslie married Gary Falcon in Chinook. They initially made their home in Colorado Springs, CO while Gary was serving in the United States Army. Leslie and Gary attended Montana State University in Bozeman, MT where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology in 1975. Upon graduation from Montana State University she began working at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Miles City, MT. In August of 1977 she gave birth to Lawrence Bennett Falcon. In November of 1979 the Falcon family moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho where she started work at Boundary Community Hospital as a Laboratory Tech. In October 1980, Kevin Thomas Falcon was born. In March 1987 Leslie and Gary purchased Melior Floral and Greenhouse. They have owned and operated the business (Falcon Floral and Greenhouse) for twenty years. During this time she was involved with many community activities and organizations including Bonners Ferry High School athletics with a special place in her heart for the sport of wrestling, Leslie was active in community projects including Friends of the Fair, Badger Boosters, “Crash-up” Derby, placing flags for the American Legion on Memorial Day, senior all-night party (High School), and took great pride in the revitalization projects of downtown Bonners Ferry. Leslie also enjoyed her time with family and friends. Leslie had a special love for traveling, sitting around campfires, reading, suduko puzzles, and she has also served over seven years as the first City Council woman for the City of Bonners Ferry where she currently represented the city on the Panhandle Area Council. Leslie is survived by her husband Gary Falcon of Bonners Ferry, ID; two sons: Lawrence (Larry) Falcon of Oak Harbor, WA and Kevin Falcon and wife Crystal of Coeur d’Alene, ID; one brother Mick Mellett and wife Margaret of Bonners Ferry, ID and their children: Melissa Carpenter of Havre, MT; Meghan Mellett of Orlando, FL and Marcella Mellett of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved cat Samantha. The family suggests memorials be sent in care of PO Box 1147, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 to be used toward Bonners Ferry High School, Badger Wrestling Program.
