There was a viewing Monday, April 3, in Caldwell, Idaho, starting 9 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12th & Everett building. The service followed at 11 a.m. under the direction of Bishop Dan Kener of the Caldwell First Ward. Burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Boise. Services are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel, Meridian. Don was born, Jan. 11, 1921, to Vera Mitton and Leslie Croft in Burley, Idaho, the second of four children. His mother later married Lee Jensen who Don referred to as his father. Don enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in October of 1930 and was selected to serve on Admiral Nimitz’ staff. Don was proud to serve his country and spoke of his service with the Marines as a positive experience. Don married his eternal sweetheart Vena Lue Gorringe, Sept. 30, 1945, in San Francisco. Their union was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they had eight children and enjoyed each others company to the end. They served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Family History Center located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don is survived by seven children, Lonny (Ginnie) Jensen of Spokane, Wash., Boyd (Ladell) Jensen of Brigham City, Utah, Irene (Ron) Grames of Boise, Connie (Joe) Bunt of Boise, Peggy (Tom) Pranger of Buckley, Wash., Kristine (Morris) Grigg of Eagle and Lisa (Albert) Erickson of Caldwell; one sister Maxine Jensen of Boise; a brother Roy Jensen of Rupert; 37 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Vena, his parents, a brother Boyd, and a son David John Jensen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society, P. O.
