Jensen 1921 ~ 2005 Memorial services for James Vernon Jensen, 84, of Bonners Ferry were held Monday, August 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Chuck Newhouse officiated. Mr. Jensen died at his home on Wednesday, August 24, 2005, of complications incident to age. He was born April 30, 1921, in Delta, Utah, to John Henry and Theda Rhoana (Elder) Jensen. After graduating from high school at Gunnison, Utah, he built houses with his father. He joined the Navy and served his country during World War II. Mr. Jensen married Leona Barker on March 14, 1942, in Yuma, Arizona. He spent most of his life as a building contractor. Survivors include wife, Leona, at home; daughters Karen Follis, Quartzite, Arizona, and Gail Greenhalgh, Bonners Ferry; sisters Florence Deck and Linda Winkler, both of St. George, Utah, Marguarite Haws, Ogden, Utah; and Gloretta Stark, Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by son David Jensen of Port Townsend, Washington. He was a loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.
