Funeral of Emera Kinnear
 Large Crowd Attends Services and Pay Last Respects TO Young Friend
Coffin Banked with Flowers
Death Came Last Wednesday After Long Illness and Serious Operation
 
Emera Mills Kinnear, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Kinnear, died last Wednesday,
after a long illness, resulting from a tumor on the brain.
   The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Union church and were
conducted by Rev. W. W. Walker.  The church was crowded with the many friends of
the deceased and his family who came to pay their last respects to the dead. 
Many beautiful floral designs and great clusters of cut flowers were banked
about and on the coffin.  Members of the Knights of Pythias lodge attended the
funeral in a body.
   Rev. Walker spoke of the life and influence for good of the deceased and
spoke words of comfort to the mourners.  Several hymns were sung by the choir.
   The deceased was born July 7, 1896 in this city and has lived here all this
time with the exception of a few months when he attended school in Spokane.  He
is survived by his parents, two brothers, Harry B. Kinnear and Wm. F. Kinnear,
and a sister, Mrs. H. O. Jackson.
   Among the out-0f-town mourners at the funeral were Henry Repp and John Repp
of Endicott, Wash., brothers of Mrs. W. L. Kinnear.
   The pallbearers were former schoolmates and friends of the deceased; Eugene
Campbell, Oliver Campbell, Fred Stoos, Jack Macnamara, Reuben Bolleau and Al Bruce.
   Emera Kinnear was a young man of pleasing personality and sterling qualities.
 He was unselfish; had a smile and good word for all and was always anxious to
help a friend or acquaintance.  he went through many years of his life
handicapped by the growth which caused him great pain at times and eventually
resulted in his death.  He bore up under his misfortune with greatest fortitude
and courage.  He had suffered more or less for the past three years from brain
tumor and has been under the care of many first-class surgeons and doctors.  he
was under the care of Mayo's for four months and later was placed in the John
Hopkins hospital under the care of Dr. W. E. Dandy, who on June 1, made an
exploratory operation and June 22 made a final and successful operation in
removing the tumor.  All was promising for a speedy and complete recovery until
upon careful examination of the tumor it was discovered that it was tubercular
and then it was decided to return home and await developments, there being a
chance that Emera might recover.  He did no however, regain his strength and
gradually became weaker and weaker.  The end came very quietly and peacefully.
