B. Kinnear, Long Time Resident Harry B. Kinnear, assessor of Boundary county for many years and a resident since 1892, died early last Thursday morning in the Bonners Ferry hospital after an extended illness. He was 72 years old at the time of his death. Harry B. Kinnear was born July 22, 1886, at Colfax, Wash., and the family moved to Bonners Ferry in 1892 to make their home. He received his formal education in Bonners Ferry, attended Gonzaga university in Spokane and was a graduate of Washington State college at Pullman. In the early days he worked for his father in the general store and later purchased his own hardware store. On September 23, 1912, he was married to Ethel Rawson at Fairbault, Minn. The couple returned to Bonners Ferry to make their home. Mr. Kinnear sold his hardware store to H. I. Monks and moved to California in 1921. They returned to Bonners Ferry the next year and he worked for a. H. White and later became bookkeeper for Morrison-Knutson construction company. In 1930 he was elected as Boundary county assessor and served in this capacity until 1956 when ill health forced his retirement. survivors include a son, William F. Kinnear of Yakima, a sister, Mrs. phoebe Prell of Bonners Ferry, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Frank Summerour of the First Methodist church officiating. Graveside rites were conducted by the Knights of Pythias Acme Lodge No. 15. Burial was in Grandview cemetery.
