Leo graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1941 and joined the Navy in 1942 "to see the world." He married Velma Claire Dunlap in 1944 and after his discharge from the Navy, they moved to California. Working as an electrician and electrical supervisor for forty years, Leo and his family traveled the United States to various job locations. He retired from Bechtel Corporation in 1984 and moved to Tehachapi to be near his grandchildren. Leo was a member of the IBEW for 60 years. He was active in various community projects and clubs. As a member of Tehachapi Kiwanis, he had over six years of perfect attendance. Leo was also a member of Mountain Bible Church and a life member of VFW. Leo also served Senior Meals-on-Wheels until 2005. Leo was preceded in death by his daughter, Coralie, and his wife. He survived by his daughter, Susan Stewart and her husband Bob; grandchildren, Karen Golden of Austin, Texas, Leo Stewart of Hesperia, Calif., and Bryon Stewart of Miami, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Feb. 16 at Mountain Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, send donations in the name of Leo M.
