Services were held Friday, October 3, in the Trinity Lutheran Church. A private interment will be held in the Grandview Cemetery. Gladys was born on August 31, 1912 to Amandus and Thea Nygaard in Anamoose, North Dakota. She attended schools Potlatch, Idaho after which she married Van Richardson. They made their home in Potlatch until 1949 when they moved to Porthill, Idaho and later that year moved to a home on the South Hill of Bonners Ferry. She worked as a Jury Commissioner and Bailiff for over 20 years until her health forced her retirement. She was an avid follower of grade school and high school sports. Her years of faithful support earned her the names of Mamma and Gramma Badger. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and a charter member of the Badger Booster club, and a member of the Phythain Sisters. Gladys resided at her South Hill home later moving to the Community Restorium and then the Extended Care Facility. She enjoyed the time she spent playing bingo there. Gladys is survived by her son Jim Richardson of Fargo, North Dakota; two daughters, Merryrose Wurtz of Park Ridge, Illinois and Betty Gross of Bonners Ferry; brother, Al Nygaard of Potlatch; 6 grandchildren; Robin Butler, Diane Kenyon, Laura Wurtz, Brian Wurtz, Erik Richardson and Kimberly Richardson; as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Van; 3 sisters; Geneva, Clara and Ona; 2 brothers; Edward and Ernest and granddaughter, Linda Steward.
