Sitze, Jr., 79 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed into Gods hands on July 30, 2007 at Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho. A private service will be held. Lester was born in Grassy, Missouri on November 29, 1927 to Lester O. Sitze and Effie Marie Reimler. Effie remarried a few years later to Ernest Leistner in Los Angeles, California where Lester was raised. He enlisted in the Navy in 1946 and served during the second great war as a sonar man on the USS Trippe and USS Ozbourn in which he received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. Lester married the love of his life Virginia Lee Lackey on July 15, 1950 in Los Angeles, CA and raised their two daughters. During this time, Lester found another love, truck driving. He worked as a Safeway truck driver and Teamster Union member for many years before taking early retirement to move to Bonners Ferry, "God's Country" in 1982. He tried his hands at farming in Paradise Valley, raising black angus, working the "sale ring" for Dick Healey and feeling the need to "drive truck" again went to work for Northern Home Center until his beloved wife became ill. Lester was also a member of the American Legion Boundary Post 55 for 26 years. Lester leaves behind his wife of 57 years Virginia, of Bonners Ferry, beloved daughters, Peggy Farr, husband John of Lomita, CA, Debbie Willcox, husband Brian of Naples, ID, three grandchildren, John Farr III, wife Charlotte, James Farr, wife Susan, all of Lomita, CA, and Alicia LeBlanc of Coeur d'Alene, ID. He was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Austin, Baylee and Miss Elizabeth, all of Lomita, CA, sister-in-law Carolyn Maddox, numerous nieces and nephews and one brother, Robert Sitze and wife Pat of Oregon, and many, many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Effie Leistner. Lester would ask to not grieve for me, for now I'm free and following the path God laid for me. I took his hand and turned my back and left it all . I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. If my parting has left a void then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss. Ah-yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with this time of sorrow as I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life has been full, I savored much, good friends, "good times", and a loved one's touch. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, HE SET ME FREE.
