Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock on Monday afternoon from the chapel of the Morse Funeral Home, Rev. P. E. Pike officiating. The deceased was born in Ontario, Canada, February 28, 1879. He came to this district, with his family, in 1919, from Glasgow, Mont. He followed railroad work and carpentering, retiring from active work a number of years ago. He is survived by his wife, Frances; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Wing, of this city, and six sons, five of whom are members of the Armed Forces; Ray Smith, of Longview, Wash.; Gordon Smith, S. 1/c U. S. Navy; Cpl. Arthur Smith; Lieut. Earl Smith, U 8 Engineers Corps; Lt. Willford Smith, U. S. Signal Corps, on overseas duty; Lt. Hollis Smith, U. S. Infantry, serving on overseas duty. It is expected that all the sons with the exception of Willford and Hollis, will be here for the funeral. The deceased is also survived by four grandchildren and two brothers. The deceased had a wide acquaintance in this community and scores of sincere friends mourn his passing, and extend their sympathies to his family.
