Graveside Services were held on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Grandview Cemetery in Boners Ferry. Internment followed. Bob was born on Dec. 17, 1932 in St. Louis, Mo., to William and Alice (Ladiy) Walsh. He received his education in Missouri after which he entered the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif. and served during the Korean conflict. In 1954 he married Leola (Becky) Beckemeyer in Hernado, Miss. He worked as an engraver for a granite company in St. Louis for several years. They moved to Casper, Wyoming where he worked as a body man and mechanic in area auto dealerships and restored old cars. In the late 1960's he moved to American Falls, ID, where he owned and operated a body shop. In 1974 he moved to Sandpoint and worked in a body shop; later he took a job in Bonners Ferry working for Bonners Ferry Datsun as a body man. In 1994 he retired and has resided in the Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint areas until his death. Bob was a member of the Wolf Preservation Society. He enjoyed growing flowers, working on old cars, backpacking, fishing and helping older people. Survivors include his companion and friend Leola (Becky) Walsh of Naples; two brothers; Leo Walsh of Holt, MO; George Walsh of Moscow Mills, MO; and numerous stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
