He served in the United States Navy in World War II in the Admiralty Islands. Survivors included his wife of 70 years, Sylvia of Upton, Wyo.; two daughters Dora Brown (Gene) of Naples, Idaho, and Stella Zaro (Tom) of Pleasanton, Calif.; two sons, Frank Watson (Kay) of Sturgis, S.D. and Jim Watson (Chris) Dayton, Nev., one sister Katie Bigelow, Ordway, Colorado, 14 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Upton United Methodist Church on Aug. 31 and he was buried at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors. Memorials may be made to research for cancer or multiple sclerosis. In the past 43 years Art has made numerous visits to Bonners Ferry. Local family besides Dora and Gene Brown are granddaughter Brenda Hill, Sandpoint; great granddaughter Conda Brown; and children Michael and Matthew Brown and Larryssa Grove all of Naples.
