He was born in Galitan Gateway, MT on July 21, 1923 to Ray and Blanche Wombacher during the family move to Boundary County from their homestead in eastern Montana. His 12 years of schooling were completed when he graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1941. Later he graduated from Northwestern Business College in Spokane. Ralph's WWII service was with the U.S. Army in Europe and the South Pacific, then "back home" at Ft. Lewis, WA. He retired as a Lt. Colonel from the Army Reserve in 1972. He worked 21 years for General Beer Distributing in Tacoma, WA, and then in 1969 purchased Inland Beer Distributors in Pasco, WA, retiring in 1988. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marion of Richland, WA, his daughters-Susan Wombacher of Miami, FL, and Maureen (Gene) Young of Spokane WA; two sisters-Alice (Monte) Peters of Anaheim CA and Clara Pierce of Lynwood, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Blanche Wombacher, sisters Helen Scott and Elaine Funkhouser. Memorial services were held July 29 in Pasco WA and graveside services on July 30 at Calvary Cemetery Cloisters in Tacoma, WA.
