Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with internment following in the Grandview Cemetery. Floyd was born on March 21, 1913 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Clarence and Amy Woodward. He attended school at the Old Curley Creek School through the eighth grade. He then began working for father making firewood, poles, railroad ties and logs. In 1946 he bought his first logging truck. Floyd would own two other log trucks during his working career. He was a good mechanic and always kept his log trucks in good running condition. For a short period of time Floyd also owned and operated a portable sawmill with his brother Lester. After they sold the sawmill, he continued to haul logs for a logging company in Libby, Montana until his retirement in 1978. Even though he spent time working away, he returned to Bonners Ferry, as that is always where he considered his home. Floyd’s family was a very important part of his life. He took care of his mother, Amy, for many years. His vacation travels were always to visit his family. He enjoyed exploring areas where they lived. Floyd enjoyed the outdoors and loved animals in particular cats. He also enjoyed the local logging events, old time fiddlers contest, the local county fair, visiting with friends and holiday dinners with family. Floyd is survived by sister-in-law Esther (Lester) Woodward of Post Falls, Idaho, nieces Elsie Shipman and Violet Johnson of California, nephew David (Diane) Litzenberger of Sammamish, Washington, nieces Carl (Morris) Prosser, of Post Falls, Idaho, Judy (Terry) Cravens, Sagle, Idaho, Shirley (Mitch) Marx of Lewiston, Idaho, Alice (Wade) Allen, Rigby, Idaho and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded by his parents, one brother: Lester and two sisters: Trellice Cooper, and Ruby Litzenberger. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
