Death
  Pvt. John D. Holladay of the Marines was killed in action with the Fifth 
Marine division on Iwo Jima March 9, according to word received by his widow, 
Mrs. Esther Svedin Holladay of Nampa. He entered the service a year ago, 
received his training at San Diego and later at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and 
went overseas last September.
  The Marine was born in Nampa and attended Kuna high school where he was 
active in athletics. Besides his widow, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and 
Mrs. D. Earl Holladay, and several brothers and sisters.
