Judson F. Allen Mourned
Young Man Was Highly Esteemed in Caldwell Circles
   The death of Judson F. Allen, which occurred on January 7, is deeply 
mourned in the circles in which he moved. He was a victim of typhoid fever.
   Judson Allen was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. K.F. Allen of Caldwell 
and was born at Antrim, Minn., December 18, 1881. He is survived by his widow 
and son, Carol, six years old, also four brothers and two sisters, C.H. Allen 
of Roswell, Idaho; C.J. Allen of Portland, Oregon; B.H. Allen of Hood River, 
Oregon; G. F. Allen of Gopher Canyon, Nevada; Mrs. Lib Bullock of North 
Yakima, Wash., and Mrs. W.W. Waterman of Caldwell.
   The funeral was conducted from the First Methodist church of Caldwell by 
Rev. Vernon of Wilder, assisted by Dr. W.J. Boone and Professor H.H. Hayman of 
the College of Idaho. Interment was in Canyon Hill cemetery.
   The church was filled with friends and relatives from many portions of the 
west. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Music was furnished by 
Prof. Fred Beal, assisted by Arthur Binford, soloist and the college glee 
club, of which Mr. Allen had been a member.
   The students of the College of Idaho formed at the church entrance and 
showed their appreciation of their former comrade. The four brothers and two 
nephews of the deceased acted as pall bearers.
   Judson F. Allen received his early education at the public and high schools 
of Madella, Minn., and afterwards completed the Tolands university course at 
Lacrosse, Wis., graduating from the business department. He came to Boise in 
1901 and engaged in the livery business, afterwards changing to the Tea Store. 
In 1906 he was married to Miss Mabel McConnel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Charles S. McConnel. For seven years he lived on his homestead at Wilder, 
where he was a working member of the M.E. church and one of its most liberal 
supporters. He was also an active member of the Odd Fellows and Yeoman lodges.
