When the reel caught fire, the young man ran up a ladder and thru a trap door into the space between the ceiling and the roof. Death was caused by suffocation. Mr. Beal, the manager was badly burned on the face and hands. The crowd escaped from the building without injury and but little damage was done to the building. --The Caldwell News. Note-according to the Idaho State Death Index, Horace Crookham died in Caldwell on July 26, 1917. He was born Nov. 3, 1901.
