While driving past the C. H. Burgess ranch at View, Alma Larsen, who had been helping on the View pipe line and was on his way home to lunch, met with an accident which resulted in his death. It seems that a cow crossed the road in head of the car and the driver did not see the cow turn abruptly to recross the road therefore he was not able to avoid hitting the cow and upsetting the car. The weight of the car fell on the head of the driver and neighbors came immediately and removed the car. A doctor was called and Mr. Larsen was taken to the hospital where everything was done to save his life. The head and chest of the victim was badly cut and broken, death likely coming as the result of internal injuries at 7:30 p.m. that evening. The deceased was born at Fairview, Sanpete county, Utah, February 21, 1866. He was engaged in farming there. Married Annie Wrigley about 32 years ago and moved to View 13 years ago where he has lived since. Besides the wife there are five children to mourn the loss of husband, father and friend. The children are Mrs. Henry Schmidt, Mrs. Roy G. Bailey, Mrs. Clyde Mitchell, Earl W. and Sidney Larsen. Services were held at View at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24th. The body was shipped to American Fork, Utah, for burial.
