Burley Herald August 10, 1944
 HUSBAND OF RUTH JACOBS NIELSEN OF DECLO, KILLED AT ANZIO, MARCH 3, IN INFANTRY
  A telegram was received July 20 from the war department by Mrs. Ruth J. 
Nielsen, Declo, that her husband, Staff Sergeant  Ross D. Nielsen has been 
officially reported killed in action in Italy on the third of March 1944.
  Sgt. Nielsen was originally reported missing in action on that date. The 
letter of confirmation from the Adjutant General which  followed the telegram 
had no further information to offer regarding the conditions of his death.
