OBITUARY OF MARGARET WATTERSON PARKE DEATH OF A PIONEER William Watterson had just returned from Cassia Creek, Idaho where he was called to the death bed of his sister Mrs. Margaret Watterson Parke, wife of the late Charles Parke; Mrs. Parke passed away a very short time after her brother reached her bedside on the 10th last. The cause of her death was Spotted Fever. Mrs. Parke was one of the pioneer settlers of this state and wasa faithful Latter Day Saint. She was born in Peel, Isle of Wight, England in 1834. Came to America when 10 years of age reaching Nauvoo where she met the Prophet Joseph Smith. She came to Utah in 1856 with her parents and settled in Bountiful. In 1858 she was married to Charles Parke; lived in various places in Utah and Nevada until 1872 when she moved with her husband and family to Cassia Creek, Idaho where she resided until the time of her death. She was a good and kind mother and loyal wife which is testified to by the four children to whom she was the same as a mother after the death of their own mother, a former wife of Mr. Parke, and also the three children which she leaves behind. The funeral was held at her residence under the direction of Bishop Taylor and internment took place at Albion, Idaho.
