Tassell, of Shepard's Loon Creek Express, arrived from Oro Grande on last Thursday night, making the trip through in three days on horseback, and started back on Saturday. He met Kossuth's pack train within forty miles of Ore grande, loaded for Wolfson; and met Charlie Adams with Jacobs' train at the head of canyon. Both trains were getting along very well, but they intended to split cargoes and make two trips over the snow, which now extends over a tract of about twenty-four miles on the side of Shepard's trail, and is from three to five- feet in depth. At Cape Horn the pack train's will have to unpack, carry the loads over on the foot bridge and swim the animals; that is the only place where they still have to swim, the balance of the crossings being all bridged. A great many parties had started out from Loon Creek on prospecting tours. Several persons are engaged in serching for the body of Smith who was lost with Wentworth, but have as yet been unable to find it. Mr. Tassell and Judge Sheperd are the first parties who crossed the trail on horseback this season, and having taken out horses and stocked the road, they intend making quicker time with the Expres than ever before made. Additional Comments: Names mentioned-Chase Tassell, Kossuth, Charlie Adams, Jacobs, Smith, and Judge Shepherd.
