When about eight miles out from the former place they were overwhelmed by a snow slide, which carried them several hundred yards down the mountain, killing Jimmy Hicks. The younger brother escaped uninjured, but had his feet badly frozen in making his way home through the snow. A party immediately went out and recovered the body of the other boy, and took it to Rocky Bar, where the good Templars took charge of the remains and buried them.
