Davis ST. ANTHONY, Jan 2. -- Funeral services for Hugh G. Davis prominent citizen of St. Anthony who died Tuesday were held Saturday in the St. Anthony Second LDS chapel with Bishop Glenn D. Sorenson officating. A family prayer before leaving for the service was offered by William H. Hansen. The opening remarks were offered by Bishop Sorenson after which the Relief Society chorus of the St. Anthony Second ward sang "O My Father" with Mrs. Alex Coleman conducting and Mrs. Virgil Powel accompanying. The invocation was offered by E. Glen Cemeron followed by a solo "The Old ragged Cross" by M. Ray Thomas of Downey with Leland Archibald as accompanist. The obitary was given by Edgar G. Westerberg. The first speaker was E. M. Jergensen after which Myedean Fallmer and Lester Dayton accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Powell sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." The concluding speaker was A. E. Archibald and the closing songs "Out of The Dusk To You" was sung by a male quartet composed of T. M. Bassett, Floyd Davis, Lester Dayton and Versal Davis with Mrs. T. M. Bassett acting as accompanist. The benediction was offered by William J. Lewis of the Yellowstone stake. The recessional and processional music was played by Mrs. Virgil Powell at the organ. Internment was in the Riverview cemetery under the direction of the Hansen Funeral home and the grave was dedicated by Edgar Birch. Flowers were carried by the Mesdames florence Law, LaVernie Nyborg, Eria Daw, Rosana White, Phyllis Evans, Mary Jane Bair, Stella Hardy, Edna Moore, Lale C. Hammond, Jane Kruger, Madge Anderson, Sara Bright, Helen Burt, Madge Stone, Millie Storer, Louise Airbert, Winone Hirschl, Margaret Mosler, Gladys Erickson, Alberta Jergensen and Myrle White under the direction of Mrs. Flossie McArthur and Mrs. Lubi Clark of the St. Anthony Second ward Relief society. Pallbearers were associates of Mr. Davis and they were Charles Geyer, Parley Jones, Grig Moore, Charles Murel, Henry Kruger and Lorin Smith. Honorary pallbearers were also associates of the associated Seed Growers, Inc., and former members of the St. Anthony school board with whom Mr. Davis worked with and they were: L. E. Hirscht, Dennis Farnsworth, Orma Jergensen, William Danigar, William L. Weber, Jr., Vern Spillman, L. E. Erickson, Hugh McKay of the school board and George Airbert, Charles Miller, William Hiatt, Joe Jones, Bill Ellis, Ray Jones, Roy Miller, Glen Robinson, Lester Nyborg, Douglas Bright, Elmo Anderson, Les Rawson, E. C. Smith, Cecil Dybee, Dick Christensen, Frank Morgan, George Muggleston, Alton Ellis, Hubert Lake, William L. Ives, G. W. Ives and Lavern Josephson of the Associated Seed Growers, Inc.
