Woodfield, 84, well known retired Fremont county farmer died at 4:30 PM at the family home of infirmities due to old age. Funeral services were held Wednesday a 2 P.M. in the St. Anthony LDS tabernacle He was born January 12, 1863, in Colehill, New Birmingham, England, the son of Henry and Hanna Woodfield. At the age of 14 he came to America with his uncle and they located at Ogden, Utah, where they were engaged in farming. February 29, 1888 he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Rose in the Logan LDS temple. Two years later they came to Idaho and took up a homestead at Twin groves. They lived there until seven years ago when he retired from farming and they moved to St. Anthony. Besides his widow, Mrs. Sarah Woodfield, he is survived by 3 daughters and a son, Mrs. Mina Johnson and Mrs. Mabel Andrasen, both of St. Anthony, Mrs. Mary Elvin, Los Angeles, Calif, and Theone Woodfield, San Leando Calif. by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Lizzie Gillis, Ogden, Utah, Ann Woodfield and George Woodfield, England. All his life he was active in LDS church work, serving as Sunday school superintendent at Twin Groves for many years, as secretary of the MIA and as ward teacher. He was a member of the school board. ****** Last Rites held for John Woodfield Funeral services for John Woodfield were held in the Stake Tabernacle Wednesday, December 3, with bishop Leonard Jensen of the Second Ward officiating. The opening musical number was by a male quartette "If I Knew You and You Knew Me" composed of Bishop T.M. Bassett, Lester Dayton, and Versal and Loyd Davis. Invocation was offered by Edgar O. Westerberg, member of the Stake Presidency. The obituary was read by Ralph Richards, former bishop of the Twin Groves ward. A vocal duet was sung by Mrs. Sadie Miller and Mis Maggie Murri, "Come Unto Me and Rest" with Mrs. Blanche Westerberg the accompanist. Bishop Floyd Law of the Twin Groves ward was the next speaker. Ladies Chorus under the direction of Mrs. Emma Stimpson presented "That Beautiful Land" with Mrs. Westerberg the accompanist. Bishop Jensen was the next speaker. Stake President William J. Lewis made the closing remarks. The ladies chorus sung "Prayer Perfect". The benediction was pronounced by E. Glen Cameron former member of the Stake Presidency. Burial was in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of The Hansen's Funeral Service of St. Anthony. The grave prayer was offered by William Hansen. The following acted as pall bearers James Johnson, William Singleton, Blaine Owens, Thomas Peterson, Ralph Richards and Blaine Miller. The following acted as honorary pall bearers, EP Peterson, Stillman Young, Joseph Andrasen, Benjamen Cazier, Samuel E Rigby and Reese Richards. The High Priests of the Stake High Priest Quorum under the direction of Stake High Priest President AE Archibald met in a body and did honor unto one of their members John Woodfield. The following ladies under the direction of Mrs Margaret Smith and Lela Crawford carried the flowers.
