W. Mansfield Emmett, Sept. 10 -- The Emmett Index has changed hands. H.W. Mansfield and wife came over from Nampa Friday and closed the deal with Mr. Clopton and took charge at once. It is understood Mrs. Mansfield will be editor in chief. Mrs. Mansfield goes to Weiser Thursday to attend the editor's meeting. D. A. Hawkins and wife are here. Mr. Hawkins is thinking of putting in a flouring mill here. John Young of Butte, Mont. has purchased the 54-acre farm belonging to Mr. Dagon. This is a very desirable piece of land, being only three-fourths of a mile from town. Mr. Young has brought this for a home and expects to come here to live. Salmon are now running up the Payette. Mrs. W. R. Cartwright is in Boise attending the street fair.
