S. J. Rees will immediately commence the erection of a brick building for business purposes on Main street. Thomas Russell and W. F. Wardwell are beginning on the foundation for a large brick at the corner of Main street and Commercial avenue. W. B. Banks has his fine residence in Hayes? addition nearly completed. J. W. Cook and D. Johns have purchased 40 acres adjoining the village and will plat the same. E. E. Stanley has commenced a brick block opposite the Russell and Wardwell building. The iron work for the McNish and Allen block has arrived and it will now be pushed to completion rapidly. The buildings on the north side of main street that were in the street several feet are being moved back to the street line. Preparations are being made to ship a large amount of fruit from this place during the fall. It is estimated that the shipments will reach 60 carloads. The schools commenced here on Tuesday of this week, with a large attendance.
