Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Potter Funeral Chapel, Rev. Joe Core and Rev. David Rieck will offtciate. Burial will be in the Emmett Cemetery. Mrs. McConnel was born May 6, 1894, at Colorado Springs, Colo., a daughter of John F. and Celestia Barker Carlson. She and her family came to Idaho in 1903, living in the Weiser Valley and Salubria before moving to Emmett in 1904. They moved to High Valley in 1906 where her parents homesteaded and ran a stage stop. She attended school in Emmett, graduating from Wardwell School in 1910. She married Roy C.McConnel on Nov. 25, 1915, at High Valley. They ranched in High Valley for 28 years where she played an active role in the ranching operation from milking cows to operating farm machinery. They were the parents of four children. They spent two winters in Eagle, and three winters in Montour. In 1943, they moved to Emmett where they farmed until Mr. McConnel's death in 1963. She was a member of the Emmett Christian Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid, mission programs, and the Women's Christian Temperance Union until failing health curtailed her activities. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Caroline McConnel of Emmett; a daughter-in-law, Pat McConnel of Emmett; five granddaughters; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, three sons and a grandson also died earlier.
