William Cramer homesteaded in the Upper Squaw Creek area, north of Ola, Gem County, Idaho, as did his brother-in-law, John "Jack" Coggburn; sons-in-law, Gustav Gross, Richard Gross, Thomas Walker, William Paddock and Tom Whitlock. His daughter, Ruth Cramer Gross (Mrs. Richard), established the Gross post office in 1909 and she served as postmistress for the next 13 years.
