Galley, 41, Gooding, took his own life with a .303 caliber rifle shortly after midnight Saturday, Dr. J.H. Cromwell, coroner, said Monday. Mr. Galley's body was found on the front lawn of his brother-in-law's home about 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Mr. Cromwell said. He had placed the muzzle of the gun in his mouth, the coroner continued, and pulled the trigger. The Walter D. Fulkerson ranch, where the body was found, is located about a mile and one-half South of Gooding. Mr. and Mrs. Fulkerson had been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Galley in Gooding during the evening. Mrs. Fulkerson and Mrs. Galley are sisters. During the evening Mr. Galley said he needed air and went for a walk. When he failed to return in a reasonable time the others became alarmed and began to search for him. The gun he used was his own but was at the Fulkerson home. A World War II Veteran, Mr. Galley had been despondent for several days, His wife informed Dr. Cromwell. They recently had moved from Los Angeles, Calif. to Gooding for Mr. Galleys health. At the time of his death he had been negotiating for the purchase of the Central Market in Gooding.
