Vader, Who Died January 21, Mourned By Many. Mrs. Lee S. Vader, one of the sweetest, kindest and most hospitable of the pioneer women of Idaho, died at her home near Hagerman on Friday, January 21, and was buried at Hagerman on Sunday, January 23. She was Miss Emma A. Jones of Salmon City, Ida., and she and Mr. Vader were married in 1877, says the Statesman. Mrs. Vader was an unusually beautiful character, a mother to the pioneers and trail breakers, the soul of hospitality and a true friend in need and deed. She and her big hearted husband always kept their latchstring where the weary traveler could find it easily, and their kindly greeting and unaffected hospitality have left a deep imprint upon many a wayfarer. She will long be missed in the Hagerman valley, where she shed the radiance of her noble personality for so many years.
