Nick St. Clair who shot his wife near the town of Sweet, Friday, was captured three miles from Payette, early Saturday evening by Chris Penske, night policeman of Payette, and Will Callender, county treasurer of Gem county. The shooting occurred Friday morning on the road between Sweet and Montour. Mrs. St. Clair died a few hours after the shooting at Sweet. The woman was riding with her father, W. J. Skillings, and her four-year-old son when met by her husband who demanded that the child be turned over to him. After some argument Mrs. St. Clair stated that she would rather see the child dead than in the possession of his father, where-upon St. Clair drew his revolver and fired four shots, all of which took effect.
